In the 1939 classic movie "Gone with the wind" Scarlett O'Hara states "I have always relied on the kindness of strangers." In today's world she would be told to shut up get a haircut and get a real job or be forced to turn tricks on a corner at $50 a pop.
I find myself being in a position where I am unable to find a "real job" and my 40 something ass is too old to turn tricks. Ever since I was in my teens I have studied to become an business person. I have dabbled in MLM businesses and even started a small business or two doing handiman work. But without any contacts or money they fall flat on their face. I always ended up selling my ass for dollars. Call it what you will but when I get a "real job" you are just buying my ass for a specific amount of money for a specific amount of time. Employment is just another term for prostitution.
Now I am making one last attempt to get the money together for a small business. Over all I expect the total business to cost me about $500,000 to get started. If I step it down into a series of small bits I can make it work. I also now have a method of raising startup funding that I did not have before. That is the Kickstarter campaign. I can still raise money with business loans and grants and mortgages and eventually share options, BUT you need money to get started, the old adage that you need money to make money is very true. Something else that they will never tell you in business school, you NEVER will get paid what you earn in a "real job" they will only pay you the absolute minimum it costs to replace you. The only way to ever get ahead is to have your own business.
This is what I studied for, trained for and worked my whole life for, to start my own business. This is what, throughout my life, I have been kicked back in the face for wanting. More than a "real job" working as a prostitute. I want to have a business where I am able to treat people like they are important. Pay them better than the minimum it costs to replace them. Give people a chance to remember it is alright to dream once in a while.
I cannot do it alone.
This is why I am forced to do that thing that Scarlett O'Hara was able to do so easily, "rely on the kindness of strangers".
I am asking for your help in making my business a success. In finding a way to bring the ability to dream back into peoples life. Please contribute to or share my kickstarter campaign. It is your kindness that I need now. http://igg.me/at/CamperDreams
