November winter begins.

Hello Inverted Cow friends, family, followers, fanatics and Facebookers. I am warning you now, before we go any further I am in alot of pain today as I had a tooth pulled out the other day and everything is still RAW! I will try to be my usual cheerful smart-assed self, but today I just want to have the whole side of my face removed and replaced with one that hurts less.
At some point someone came by and delivered all this frosting on the yard.
Now I am waiting for them to come take it back.

The tooth:
Since this is the first topic that is foremost on my mind I will start there and then hopefully it will be less pain filled from there. Marianne went in to see the dentist last week, and without my knowledge or consent she booked me in for an appointment. I have had a bad tooth that the filling came out and the whole side of the tooth had given way along time ago, problem was occasionally something would get stuck in there and if I did not get it all out right way it would cause great pain. She got tired of me bellyaching about it and surprised me with the appointment to get it fixed. I went in dentist pokes around, jabs 3 needles in my jaw, comes back and grabs some pliers and rips the tooth out in pieces! sticks apiece of gauze in the hole and says  "ok your done!"

Now I am thinking, you didn't rinse, or run that little hydro vac or sew up the hole or nothing?! How can I be done? So I sign the little papers and off I go with a frozen numb jaw and a mouth full of bloody gauze. I got home and was enjoying some down time while the freezing wore off then in the period of about 10 minutes  BAM off it came! My jaw hurt from where he was torquing on the tooth and then the exposed raw nerves and bits of bone still in the wound all let me know they were there. I literary went into shock, First the anxiety and relentlessness then the fever and chills. I told Marianne that if I started to sweat or get clammy she was to load me into the car and take me to the ER! It was at this point that she realized that something was definitely not right with the ol longhair!

SO since then I have been a little on edge and rather ill tempered as I do not do pain well. It appears that in the next few weeks I will be filing a complaint with the authorities. I want this crackpot to loose his licence and practice. If my immune system was not as strong as it is the shock thing could have been deadly.

Fun things to do while in pain.

Two days after the above mentioned ordeal I had an all day charter. It was fun, take a busload of kids from one school, drop off the girls halfway, and then spend the day watching kids play volleyball, wait till the kids get done, figure out what how we are going to get the girls team and then head on back to the school. A detail person would have had a meltdown with the schedule because everything depends on how well the kids do. The boys made the semifinals but lost the first two games. The girls were already on the way back when we were done, So I am guessing they did not fare so well.

My first bus charter for Lakeshore School Div
Editor's note The bus WAS NOT
this clean when I first picked it up!
More fun things, or Insult to injury.

About the day before the charter,  I started coming down with the flu bug that Kyle was so generous to share with Marianne and I, Now we both have it! I am almost through it but she is in full bloom. So we take turns being the sick one and being the nursemaid. (I am loosing on the being the sick one turns though)

My turn to be the sick one today.
You go be cheerful for a while!
On top of all this....

Marianne attended two back to back craft shows with her Fifth avenue jewelry. And I, being the wonderful, supportive, charming husband I am, I went along with her so I could be errand boy and wonderful and charming.

Marianne almost done setting up for the second
Craft show in as many days
while being sick and feverish
and working on four days with less than 6 hours sleep each.
The shows did not bad, at least it was not a blizzard like last year.  Marianne made some new contacts and a few sales. She got her name out among the people and we will see if it produces any fruits next month after she has a moment to breath.

She did another show last weekend, but I did not attend that one as it was just down the street. It too was profitable and fun.

Before Pain. and other fun things

Last weekend when Marianne was at the show in Camper the boy dropped in and wanted to boil some traps. Apparently boiling them removes any oil and smells from manufacturing. He is hoping to hunt wolves this year. I think he is a little NUTS.
Kyle stirring the pot.
MMMM Trap and fir branch soup almost tender enough to eat.
After cooking the traps we loaded into the Kyle taxi cab (or the tractor and trailer) and tootled off into the brush to "get some wood". It has since been discovered that when Kyle says that, it means; "I want you to come along with me while I go check out some trapping locations on your dime".

Out behind the boys "Man shack"
While tracking around in the bush we found a pond full of beavers.
There was 4 in the shot but one moved out of frame
while the camera worked on getting the
picture under wretched lighting at max zoom.

A Small reminder of the history in this area.

Last thoughts and Insults.

Rev.6:8 I looked and there before me was a pale horse! its rider was named Kyle McCosh, and Hades was following behind him.

This revision to the word was made as a tribute to Kyle McCosh the Plaguebringer. In honor to the flu that he carried to both Marianne and I. Our gratitude is overwhelming.

Look on the top of the wall..
It is a Hope Cat the wall monkey
Hope update, She is eating well and growing like a weed. She now is in the competition as the cutest 3 cats in the house!

I would need a prop to be any cuter!
Anyone have a tutu or a bow?

I do not need to be cute
 I am the Midnight bear,
AKA the Inverted cow
editor and chief!

Hey take a picture of me too!
I am just that baby here
 all wrapped up in the
throw pillows on the easy chair.

Mitza; I am old and just
warming my bones,
But if you take my picture
I will rip your... oh nevermind.

Till Next time.

How much wood would Art cut, if Art could cut wood?

Hey inverted cow fans and adoring public! Things are in full swing to get all geared up for winter! The world is still tearing itself apart and somehow we are pulling it all together here. Marianne has started another renovation project, I was helping with some cow guys get the cows in and have got a few loads of wood from the bush. Time is against me now more than ever, but for now the weather is cooperating!

The pile grows! One load at a time!

The guest Bedroom (part one)

Marianne and I were attempting to work out where we can make a guest bedroom. There is a small room off the main bedroom but the floor is almost ready to cave in. We are using it for storage but I think this spring it will have to come out. Floor and all! The alternative was to turn the pantry/office/dump everything here room into a bedroom. The folks are bringing out some of their old bedroom furniture and a bed that neither one likes anymore, as they are continuing to downsize. Marianne has the renovate bug big time and it is keeping her looking at new projects for me to fix. So for now the soon to be guest bedroom is an empty shell. More to come on the next edition of the inverted cow.
First clear out all stuff
stored in storage room
and pile it in the bedroom!
First coat of paint on,
supposed to be antique gold?

Hope UPDATE

Hope, if you remember was the kitten who moved in with us last month. Her health is improving thanks to all the prayers and home remedies and other suggestions. She doesn't know this but she will be visiting the vet at the humane society before the end of the month and she will be fixed. Yea I didn't know she was broken either.  She will also get a complete once over and her shots will be updated and we will look at getting her a tattoo.

Mitza and her are still having issues, But Mitza has issues with everybody, even Midnight, and he has lived with us for several years now. Midnight has adopted Hope as his baby, he apparently has been around kittens before and is quite the poppa cat.  But over all she is adapting to the house here quite comfortably.

I know you just got out of bed and have not made it yet,
But it is soooo warm still and I am just so darn CUTE!

Work and Other stuff

I picked up a bit of a casual job with one of the local cow guys here. Pay is nonexistent compared to what I am used to making, but I will not get too cranky about it. Work, even underpaid work, is better than nothing.

what we started with....
not quite 14 chord yet!
However, here on the farm I am busier than ever attempting to get the wood we need for winter (now that it is officially here) before it snows. That being said it is in the forecast for this evening, but out here you never know. Marianne's assistance paid for 2 chord of wood to be delivered. I still had to cut and she was helping me stack I don't think it was 2 chord we got when it was all stacked up though. I am still attempting to work through the wood that Kyle and I brought out of the woods. I have a couple of loads still sitting back in there and a few loads that can be cut down and pulled out. I have use of the tractor from Kyle for the time being but I have not had any time to put it to work.

Art working his way through the pile of sawmill slats
we got delivered and the pile of wood from the bush

Kyle also brought over his old skidoo I am going to attempt to get it running so I can pull wood out over the week while he is in school. He wants me to go trapping with him again this year so I expect that I will be spending some time on the skidoo with him. But this year I will not be riding passenger! If looking at dead things is your cup of tea then I think I have his hyperlink in his profile on the about us page.

Someday (hopefully) it will ride again!
Last thoughts,

I have been attempting to get work done online as well. However I have a few more demands on my time than I can think about. I use the facebook games to relax but they can become an time waster as well. I am always needing to keep my internet time short and cut off game times, read the news and chase the almighty elusive customers. I am working on a private blog with the details on some of the things I want to install here on the farm so that once written I can get them off my mind. I also am posting some private things there but it is shared only with people I trust and know. Calgary story, as well as updates to the Kudos page are long overdue and I am attempting to work on both of them as time allows. I did this month remember to add a couple of new affiliate links to the Support the inverted cow page. So please feel free to click the advertisements and if you see anything you like it may work back that they drop a few pennies in my jar.

Not my style perhaps but Marianne Likes it.

I used to play chess and get my butt whooped. Before computers!

I love back country skiing, backpacking and all sorts
of out doors things, These guys have the
gear for out there!
