I would like to welcome you to my first web log.
First a little background. About one year ago my wife and I gave up our lives, careers and home in the city, to move out to her parents old acreage. The place had been rented out to a person who, we later found out, has a history of turning rental units into condemned places.
This place was almost there! I hope to chronicle the events of the transformation from where it was when we arrived, to the, hopefully, eventual goal of being self-sufficient and self-sustaining. I hope to amuse and enlighten many people as we progress.
Thank you for visiting my BLOG and I pray you find it as fun to follow along as it is to live it!
Cheers =o)
Edit: The blog spot will not allow descending chronological order so the following posts will always have the newest one on top, if you want to see the progress you need to goto the last post and work backwards from there. I didn't design it I just write it. =o(
The Cast of Misfits
1) Me, Art
I am the hands on person, who you will see in many pictures working on something.
2) The Wife, Marianne:
The love of my life, My reason and my everything.
Although we have had some bumpy spots she has decided to stick with me through it all.
She still holds to the dreams of us getting this place to something amazing,
Sne also plays a mean minecraft.

3) The terrible trapper kid from the farm next door, Kyle: AKA The Boy
He enjoys trapping the pesky little varmints in the area and selling the pelts.
He posts videos on YouTube of his trapping skill and those of other trappers. So if you enjoy seeing little critters getting trapped then this is the place you should go.
His other favorite past time is in pestering the PETA or other anti-trapper websites. but hey he is still...
4) The Folks, Marianne's mom and dad
But at their requests I will post no links to their lives here.
5) Midnight Barebottom, AKA CareBear
We adopted Midnight a couple of years ago from a former roommate.
The SPCA in Calgary had named him Midnight, he looks black but his coat is really dark brown, like coffee.
He got the name Barebottom when he was adopted by the person we adopted him from as he had a serious case of mange and had to have his whole hind quarters shaved.
He got the name CareBear from the folks when we had to leave him with them for a week
6) Mitza (pronounced meatza like the dominos pizza meatzzafest)
This was Marianne's cat from before we met.
Mitiza and I never got along well. However, over time she tolerates me, but I think it is because I change the litterbox, and the food dish for her.
7) The newest addition The baby cat Hope
