The day of this writing falls on the 10th anniversary of the terrorist attacks on the United States. All week long the news stories and stations have been gearing up to run features and stories. I have been able to spend time remembering with Marianne. The wounds for her are still quite raw. It is good, but there are tears none the less. As we get close to heading back to Calgary for a season I feel it necessary to dedicate the opening of this post to the remembrance of that day.
Like most people of my generation we can tell you what we were doing precisely when we found out something was wrong. I was driving School Bus for Southland transportation. I had just picked up the first half of my route and was heading for the last few kids. Someone came on the radio and said "Those Americans are getting hammered today." Dispatch replied; "Please do not talk about it over the radio."
I finished my run. I had no stereo on the bus so the news was already several hours old when I got home. I turned on the TV (something I hardly ever did) and watched with as they replayed the footage that is now so popular of the aircraft hitting the second tower. The footage of the damage to the pentagon and the flight that crashed in the cornfield in Pennsylvania.
In the days that followed I saw so many stories of things, heroic things, and terrible things. A couple stand out in mind, first was the cross that was standing from 2 girder sections, No one made it, it just fell that way. But people used it as a memorial spot. The second was, for the first time in my memory, did I see America united, Indivisible under God. Standing for one cause. No hatred, no racism, no greed. Just one nation, in pain.
The world changed on that day, and not for the better. Now I keep reading the news and watching the great and terrible day of the Lord getting closer and closer. People are still ignoring it. Others refuse to accept it. The world needs to be ready for more tears. Here are a few videos I watched this week. Grab a tissue, If you remember that day too.
Note: the videos on You tube are not always supported by blog spot So these are the links as I cannot seem to get all the actual videos to load.

this is a story on how things have changed, Kyle and his buddies need to pay particular attention to:
Certain kinds of humour are now illegal.
Not only is joking about terrorism in poor taste, it’s also illegal. Terrorism-related hoaxes are now part of the Criminal Code, meaning you can’t convince people that a terrorist attack is happening or imminent in a way that causes them to fear for their own lives, property or safety. This crime carries a maximum sentence of 5 years in prison – and a much harsher sentence if someone is actually harmed as a result of your prank.
Meanwhile back at the farm:
Here at the inverted cow things are getting more chaotic than ever.
I 'harvested' the remainder of the garden it was not much, but it is done. I also started fixing the yard to be shut down for the winter. Mostly it is one last fall cleanup and get everything in order. We still do not know how we are going to make the move but we are working on it.

I had a awesome visit with Andrew and Marianne had a great visit with Suzie I miss so much having heart to heart talks about God. We did not chat about the crap of the world, just God. I came home and was PUMPED.
Then the bottom fell out, One of Marianne's relatives, who was terminal, passed away early this morning. It was well with his soul and I am sure that he waits where no tears will fall. But those left behind will feel his absence.
The swallows are getting ready to leave for the winter as well, The last bunch of them were flying about when I took this picture. Now every morning there is about 20 or so of them flitting around the house catching mosquitoes and flys and whatever other bugs they want to eat.
